Introduction

This document describes the ``next generation'' system for configuring traffic control on the Linux platform. We give a general overview of the system in this chapter, continue with a definition of the tcng configuration language in chapter 2, with additional background information in chapters 3 and 4, describe the traffic control compiler tcc and the simulation framework tcsim in chapters 5 and 6, respectively, and conclude with a description of the interface tcc uses to communicate with external programs (for specialized traffic control mechanisms) in chapter 7.

Appendix A contains a reference of all the parameters used by traffic control elements.

This document describes version 9h of the tcng system.
